Born out of dorm room jam sessions and acoustic covers in stairwells at Harding University, Rivers West is on a simple mission: make and play music that they love.
It turns out the first time their paths crossed was in 7th grade at a travel soccer tournament in Louisiana. Who could have guessed they would end up meeting in college, becoming roommates, and starting a band?
For years, Addison Carney (Guitar/ Harmonica) & Joe Oliver (Mandolin/ Tenor Guitar/ Piano) played music for family and loved ones, but in the spring of 2021 they began writing and playing as a duo. Naming their duo after the Louis L’Amour novel “Rivers West” (an author whose work they both greatly enjoy), they craft their music with intentionality and honesty that allows them to tell stories that connect with their audience.
They recently released their debut album “Hold You Close.”
